The Review step: edit your video before it is built

Before rendering, ainius stops at the “Review the script” screen so you can look and edit. You can change the voice and music, edit the voiceover, ask the AI to rewrite a sentence, swap a scene's image, and delete or reorder scenes. Editing here costs nothing extra; the video is only built when you tap “Approve & render”.

How to open the Review step

The Review step only appears when you turn on “Review before render” while creating a video. It is off by default, and the video is then built right away.

  1. On the Create screen, turn on the “Review before render” chip (the eye icon). A lit chip means it is on.
  2. Paste a link or text and tap Create video. The video stops at the Review step so you can look and edit; it is not built yet.

Change the voice and music for this video only

  1. At the top of the Review screen, tap the “Voice” box to pick another voice.
  2. Tap the “Music” box to pick other music. Both choices apply only to the video you are reviewing, cost no extra credits and do not change your defaults in Setup.
  3. Switch between “Quick view” (skim the scenes played back to back, like the real video) and “Edit” (edit scene by scene). Review opens in “Edit”.

Edit the voiceover and the on-screen text

Each scene has two independent parts: “1. Voiceover” is the voice in the video, and “2. On-screen text” is the text shown on screen. Editing one does not change the other. Changes are saved automatically (the “Saved” note in the bottom bar) and the estimated length shows at the bottom left.

Note: Want to change how the voice reads a word (a name, an abbreviation)? Select the word and save it to the Pronunciation dictionary. See the Pronunciation dictionary guide.

Ask the AI to rewrite a sentence

  1. In the scene's Voiceover, tap the ✨ button next to the sentence you want to change.
  2. Pick a style: Shorter, More formal, Simpler, or “Write your own request”.
  3. Tap Rewrite. The new version appears below; tap “Try another style” if you are not happy with it.
  4. Tap “Use this sentence” to put it in the Voiceover box, or “Discard” to keep the old one.

Note: The AI only suggests; you decide. A rewrite keeps the facts and numbers of the source and adds nothing new. Each video has 20 rewrites. The on-screen text does not change with it, so check “2. On-screen text” too.

Change a scene's image

  1. Under the scene's image, tap “Change image”.
  2. Pick a tab: “From the article” (images found in the article you pasted) or “Stock photos” (credited stock photos).
  3. In “Stock photos”, type a keyword in the search box if you do not see the right image. English keywords usually work better.
  4. Tap the image you want. The scene rebuilds its preview, usually in a few seconds up to about half a minute.

Note: Each video has 10 image changes. Tap “Undo image” to go back to the previous image, but undoing does not give the change back.

Delete a scene or change the order

  1. At the top of each scene, tap the up arrow to move the scene earlier.
  2. Tap the down arrow to move the scene later.
  3. Tap the bin to delete the scene, then confirm. Deleted scenes are listed under “Deleted scenes”; tap “Restore scene” or “Undo” to bring one back.

Note: The opening and closing scenes are fixed and cannot be deleted or moved. If deleting would make the video shorter than your plan's minimum, ainius tells you and suggests shortening the narration instead. To drop all your edits, tap “Restore AI version” at the top right of the Review screen.

Render the video

When you are done, tap “Approve & render” in the bottom bar. After 24 hours without a review, ainius sends you a reminder email. After 72 hours, ainius builds the original AI version for you and emails you when the video is ready.
